Through surveys and interviews, this paper suggests that preaching the Grace of God can inspire members of a congregation to increase participation in life long community outreach. When persons are keenly aware of God’s Grace in their lives, they are more prone to extend grace to others. One way to extend grace to others is by participating in community outreach. The Grace of God may be understood as the work of God in the life and circumstances of an individual or group of individuals. The author argued that Sermon models such as Preaching as Celebration and The Four Pages of a Sermon are excellent resources for shaping grace-based preaching.
