Soul is all that we were, are, and will be. It is our internal and external life. It is not only the bridge that connects the mind with the body but contains our dreams, emotions, aspirations, and sufferings; our laugh, cry, singing and actions. The soul is mystery and is reality. It is the place where the Holy Spirit works. The theological principle informing this study holds that God's Word proclamation must be made with all the homiletical resources in force. The challenge the preacher faces is how to make the congregation respond to the call for action. This study explores the power that preaching has when it is made with soul, life, and heart. It encourages the preacher to present his/her sermon with propriety and authority. It explores the power preaching has when it is combined with images both in its preparation and in its presentation. Images that come from the biblical text, added to the images of the preacher and his/her community, make a powerful combination for the sermon. The study encourages the preacher to assimilate, digest, incarnate, visualize, and imagine his/her sermon. It motivates the preacher to use his or her voice, hands, eyes, feet, and body movements in the preaching act. It furnishes resources so that the whole person of the preacher can transmit his/her message. It guarantees us that whenever the sermon is preached with soul, life, and heart, it has unexpected effects in the answer of the congregation.
