Intentional preaching of the full gospel can serve as a catalyst to transform laity into effective leaders in church, community, and the marketplace. The change that occurs may create an unfamiliar, shaky, and seemingly unsafe atmosphere; however, this is simply the journey necessary for true leadership transformation. The transformation of laity into effective leaders is essential in securing the future of local churches, creating unity in the body of Christ while simultaneously displaying a more accurate portrait of God. Without laity recognizing their leadership potential, we are left to only follow a single type of leader thus limiting the full perspective of Christ that could be shown to us by a much more diverse leadership structure. Through the preaching of leadership focused sermons, follow up bible study series, group collaboration in sermon preparation and review, interviews, and surveys it is possible to see that preaching can be transformative. When preaching has been provided to illuminate the leadership potential of lay members our churches, communities, and marketplaces will see a rise in effective leaders. These leaders will not assume leadership roles and have only arrived. Instead the opportunity to rise in leadership will create a passion to consistently grow in leadership iterations. The laity who has become a leader will consistently seek opportunities to enhance, strengthen, and grow in various leadership roles. Preaching is the catalyst for leadership transformation.
