This thesis will explore Popular Biblical interpretation in Latin America as a way to move beyond a strictly Eurocentric Biblical interpretation. The investigation of the Bible has been a noteworthy instrument in the battle of interpretation, and the best piece of our training has been developed in a double connection between popular Biblical examination and scholarly Biblical research. For centuries, biblical interpretation has been applied only to the liberation of souls, while hundreds of people live in poverty in the Poor South. Theologians in the South for many years have understood that reading the Bible solely as a means of saving souls is not liberating. Our context in the Poor South has to become the main tool to interpret the Bible in order to create a more holistic emancipation, something that starts within the struggle of most poor Christians. Gradually, the cry of people for justice has found a solid ground in the Bible, a Bible that was not ours but that has become an instrument of hope for deliverance from oppression.
