This project focuses on preaching as a catalyst for discipleship. Through this work I want to find out how congregants can move from static discipleship. Considering our congregation and others’ strong representation at Sunday worship services, this effort seeks to determine if preaching is a catalyst that can move congregants beyond one-day-a week static discipleship to empowered discipleship. Empowered discipleship consists of reducing negative responses to life challenges, sharing personal faith stories, and engaging in service. I employed a variety of preaching methods and used testimonial cards and survey question to evaluate the congregation behavioral responses to preaching as a change agent shifting from once a week to a daily embodiment of discipleship.
