Outreach whether evangelism or social work is not always of interest because like an adventure it can be uncomfortable. That is why stakeholders need to have a clear understanding of outreach and its relationship to the church’s vision. The focus of this project thesis is to explore the question, “Will dialogical preaching in an outreach setting help people to make connections to the message that is being offered?” I answer the question by placing the outreach client in dialogical conversation with the interview, sermon, and survey, using a method of theological reflection recommended by Patricia O’Connell Killen and John De Beer and a method of preaching developed by Ronald Allen.
