This thesis project focuses on the practical application of preaching that encourages evangelism in the hearers so that it is effective in moving disciples to make new disciples. Foundational to this work is the belief that the proclamation of God’s word calls the hearers to embrace the good news of God’s divine grace, that empowers the hearers to go forth into the world to make disciples. This thesis describes a process in which the preacher uses the biblical text, the sermon, extra-biblical material, within a congregational context, effectively, to move those who receive the sermonic message as disciples of Jesus Christ to act evangelistically to win disciples of Jesus Christ.
