Ministers working in church communities often find themselves dealing with wounded people. In particular, when congregations have been through difficulties that have resulted in a loss of hope and focus only on themselves, healing is required to continue as a church. This project explores the preaching that might best serve and a congregation in need of healing. Rooted in appreciative inquiry and with a focus on missional action, this project examines homiletical moves that can bring a renewed sense of life and purpose to a church. Using Killen and DeBeer’s rubric for theological reflection, this project seeks to create new truths for living among a broken people.
