This thesis explores the use of first person narrative sermons in combating biblical illiteracy. The context is an Episcopal Church in Rhode Island with an average Sunday attendance of 90. The congregation responded through questionnaires, group games, and group discussion. This thesis concludes that first person narrative sermons remain with the listener long after Sunday morning and are an effective tool in increasing bible literacy.
