In this DMin thesis I argue that the stories about women in the Old Testament can give us the courage to preach about sensitive issues; like all kind of violence and repression. In addition it depends on your own image of God, if you find God or not in the worst stories where women are victims of terror. I preach from three stories about women in the Old Testament, about sensitive issues that are currently in focus in the society in Iceland. In two of the sermons my focus is on violence against women and children and in the third sermon the focus is on same-sex marriages and the right to follow our own conscience.
