Bethel Community is a church that had experienced death. Due to Bethel's passion to live, they used many of the concepts, processes and tools offered by the experts in redevelopment and within a few years they were a resurrected community. However, their efforts to live into a future beyond surviving were stymied after five years. As a result, "Continuing the Journey..." a seven-week visioning process was developed using provocative questions to form a new vision for the church. This process created conversations and dialogue which encouraged listening for their future -"Listen, so that you may live..." (Isaiah 55:3). The impediments to this process were: lack of focus and energy, inability to focus on the future and dependency on the pastor. This is a discussion about "Continuing the Journey..." a process using provocative questions. Questions that created anxiety, forced people to think out of their comfort zone, and encouraged "taboo" questions about church and its meaning. "Continuing the Journey..." not only helped the church vision but also boosted the energy, creativity and support for change for the church's future.
