Is it possible for a 62-year-old ecumenical non-profit organization, grounded in mainline denominations and entrenched in a dynamic of paralysis, to become a vital ecumenical non-profit organization grounded in a vision that is embodied in practical, relevant, and positively impactful community engagement? If so, what will it take, and what are the challenges we need to face as we implement the required changes? These are the questions that this project seeks to address. Incorporating the powerful vision of Ezekiel 47:1-12, the practical theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the theories of adaptive change, and the model of Asset Based Community Development, this project explores ways that Tarrant Churches Together can move from an entrenched way of operating toward being an effective organization that responds to and interacts with the Tarrant area community.
