First Presbyterian Church is a "traditional" church concerned with revitalization in a community that is changing. We are a multi-generational, bimodal congregation that has difficulty in appreciating the diversity these dynamics bring to our worship needs. Worship is at the heart of who we are as children of God. As the Body of Christ (l Corinthians 12), we have a role in worship and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and declaring God's faithfulness from generation to generation. Not only must everyone have a part in worship, but we also need to make room for and value the new gifts each one brings to the table. By developing a multi¬layered program that includes worship education opportun- ities and development of worship design teams, members will have occasions to interact more boldly with scripture, liturgy and prayer and our world's context. They will wrestle with how best to proclaim the gospel so that all people may embrace it and find their place within the faith story. Through this, members will deepen in their understanding of worship and their desire to worship God fully when others are leading. Evaluation is formative and helps to adjust the program and process along the way.
